What if Every Swing State Tied?
Today’s XKCD’s “What If” topic poses and absurd, if fascinating question.  What if there was a tie in the election?  Not an electoral college tie, or a single swing state tie, but what if every swing state’s vote were split down the middle between Mittens and BO?  Lots of math ensues regarding the odds, but what is most fascinating  and terrifying, is that should there be a tie, many state laws would dictate “drawing lots” which could mean a simple coin toss to determine the outcome.

What if xkcd discusses the output of Yoda’s force power, and how that would affect us in the real world.  He has some fantastic analysis, so go read it, but his conclusion is thus:

So Yoda sounds like our best bet as an energy source. But with world electricity consumption pushing 2 terawatts, it would take a hundred million Yodas to meet our demands. All things considered, switching to Yoda Power probably isn’t worth the trouble—though it would definitely be green.
