Things I do not need: Snolo Sled
There are a number of reasons why I do not need the Snolo Sled.  First and foremost I live in North Carolina, and unfortunately rebel flags and Jr bumper stickers are far more common than the blessed snow day.  Secondly, I have a sled already, its light, cheap, and handy on those 1-2 days a year I can use it in my back yard.
The main reason I do not need a Snolo Sled, is that for my uses, a carbon fiber sled, that has been clocked at 40 miles an hour, just doesn’t suit my needs.  So the revolutionary control system allows for a ridiculous level of control, Ill never see an expanse of white where I will need that level of maneuverability.  Yes, its cool that it folds up so that you can carry it like a back pack, but that cold hike from my garage to the yard isn’t that bad.
All that said, if this type of winter recreation technology is what you are looking for, you can “register your interest” through their current site, with a fully release expected on 12/7/2012, just in time for Christmas.

Things I do not need:  Spy Hawk
I have always wanted one of the cool quad copters, or model airplanes with a camera built in or installed, simply because I always wanted to fly as kid, and I feel like this is as close as you can get will still having two feet on the ground.  Most of the sensory input, none the effort/danger.  Yet, I think there is a fine line here between cool and creepy.  Using your $400 Spy Hawk Glider to get a better view of your city, home, or landmark - Cool.  Using your camera equipped flying device to get a better view of Mrs. Davis during bikini season - Creepy.
Per Uncrate:

This unique RC glider sports a built-in 5 megapixel camera that streams a live video feed back to the 3.5” LCD on the controller, which also holds an SD card for recording your flights. Of course, all of that isn’t much good if you can’t keep the thing in the air, which is where the intelligent autopilot comes in — fly it up to the required height, switch it one, and a built-in gyroscope will work to keep it level, even in gusty winds.

I wear my iPod Nano as a watch, and I love it.  It works suprisingly well as an everyday watch, the downsides being that you have to charge it, you have to press a button to turn it on, and it isnt waterproof, but honestly I got over all of that really quick.  Yes it looks really nerdy, but hey so do I.
The Nano watch concept really shines at the gym.  I see people with arm bands with their phones or iPods and it just seems awkward to change songs or check the pedometer, this is easily relieved by just moving all that to your wrist.  The issue here, is that you have to either run your headphones up your sleeve, or just have a chord hanging between your head and wrist which is begging to snag something and ruin your concentration or your headphones.  Herein lies the brilliance of SYRE.

SYRE is a Kickstarter project which integrates a Bluetooth transmitter into the iPod Nano watch design.  Now you can have the functionality and convenience of the Nano watch, with the ability to link to a Bluetooth headset for a no wire workout.  True, there are options out there to give your Nano Bluetooth, mainly dongles like this or this.  I even found another Bluetooth watch band, the incredibly fugly Kokkia I10s Watch.  None of these solutions are as elegant as the one proposed by the people of SYRE though.
If you are interested, $50 worth of support can get you one of their watchbands, not bad considering most of the dongles come in at that price range.  Check it out.

Uncrate, in addition to offering fashion advice and encouraging you to buy cars you can never afford, has also become the go-to place for purchasing Zombie defense gear.  Their latest submission is the Hornady Zombie Max Ammo, which are:

168 grain, .308 Winchester rounds come 20 to a box, and can fly through the air — and straight at the undead’s noggin — at an impressive 2700 feet per second

Thanks for keeping me ever prepared for the zombie apocalypse!

Things I do not need…. a Delorean Bike.  This isnt some knock off, these are official DMC bicycles.  I think a little pricey, $5,500 for the “Anyday” model, it may be the only way you will ever own a Delorean.  Pricey yes, but it does feature some neat Bike tech, featuring a belt driven, 11 speed, internal hub, front and and rear hydraulic disc breaks, and some sort of luminescent coating on the wheels.  All of this, with a carbon fork and, of course, a stainless steel frame.  Im more excited about the “Speed” road bike model which is yet to be released.  Road bike?  Where we’re going we dont need roads!

Holy hell, Uncrate has assembled the most impressive collection of survival essentials that I have ever seen.  Calling it the Apocalypse Pak, they have included everything from your fire arms ( Mossberg 500 Pump-Action Shotgun,  HK P2000 Pistol) to medicine  (Hydrocodone, Ciprofloxacin), and shelter (Hennessy Explorer Deluxe A-Symmetrical Hammock, Mountain Hardwear Phantom Sleeping Bag,  Sea to Summit Reactor Extreme Thermolite Line) all crammed into one bag!  It looks to me like its nearly everything you would need to survive any major natural disaster/zomibie uprising.  Check out the link for the full list.

Things I do not need… bolt action tactical pen.  Uncrate summarizes the pen thusly:
“Head into the day prepared with the Bolt Action Tactical Pen ($50). Built from anodized milled aluminum, it features a bolt action mechanism that opens and closes the pen tip, an integrated clip, and a flat head in case all the goofing around becomes an actual, “I need to stab someone in the eye” battle.”
