Cnet and Gizmodo have gotten their hands on a the new Google Nexus 7 tablet, and they offers their first impressions.
If you dont want to watch the video, Cnet Editor Eric Franklin’s thoughts seem to be “Wow this is well built for $200” and ” man Kindle Fire…. sorry bro.” Check out the video, pics, and his full review over at Cnet.
Gizmodo on the other hand… generally says the same thing. After some time with the tablet Brent Rose says “It’s light, it’s compact, and holy crap, it’s faster than hell. In short, you won’t believe this is a $200 tablet” and “There is zero reason to buy a Kindle Fire over this. Those are direct quote’s, no joke. Great read and photo gallery over at Gizmodo
So, unlike the shaky early reviews on the Microsoft Surface, the Nexus 7 seems to have impressed most in the tech community… so far. For the moment it seems you can take that Kindle Fire out of your Amazon wishlist, but I would wait until the end of summer if you are looking for a budget tablet, just incase the Kindle Fire II rumors turn out to be true.
