So in addition to stylish, affordable yet low quality and difficult to assemble furniture those crazy Sweds at IKEA are now making televisions.  Dubbed the Uppleva which is probably Swedish for “my TV is better than yours” it features a flat screen HDTV with internet connectivity , Blu-Ray player, and surround sound with a wireless sub woofer, all integrated into a stylish unit with no cord clutter.  At a price point of less than a grand ($960 according to Engadget) it represents a nice alternative to your standard flat screen.  Although the quality is suspect, being made by  China’s TCL Multimedia, with a 5 year warranty from IKEA, I would be willing to take a shot.  Units will be available in multiple colors this fall, and Im sure, some assembly required.
